00 Southern Region coaches with Adams 02.

Couldn't resist a few shots of the 02 with the converted Tri-ang/Hornby Clerestory coaches.

Conversion was detailed in previous posts which I won't repeat.

Although St Mewan is an ex-GWR station I plead modellers licence with Bodmin as the main witness!

700 Posts- Layouts over the years in 3mm & 4mm scale, 009 Narrow Gauge, HO Trams and 0 Gauge.

3mm scale Teignford- has appeared in Railway Modeller and at Warley- shows station.

Quarry Siding is a minimum space 009 layout built by Paul Levy on a cable drum.
Hillbrow is my first 009 build. This one also appeared in the Railway Modeller but the ticket collector     was still upright!

RAF St Misrah is 21 x 24 inches and this one appeared in both Railway Modeller and 009 News.
My only foray into 0 Gauge is Cringle Street Goods. Imagined in South London it is an exercise in how small I could make a workable 0 Gauge layout. Since relocated to a new home.
This is Woody lane. It is a continuous circuit 009 layout based on nowhere in particular but uses the smaller stock in my collection.

Gwartha Vellan Tramway ( Cornish for Higher Mill) is the latest 009 layout. Based in Cornwall it is really an excuse to run my Lynton and Barnstable Manning Wardles. Baseboards are from Norfolk Heath Works and is in five fifteen inch modules

Two pics of St Mewan a Cornish layout in 4mm. The layout is 7ft long by 8inches deep with a 10inch extension to the fiddle yard. This is still under construction as is Gwartha Vellan.
Cody Street is a simple oval operating motorised Atlas Editions HO trams. Petite Properties low relief building kits have been used throughout- named after my youngest grandson.
Lastly is Hennock which was my first 3mm scale layout. This one has also been published in Railway Modeller and also appeared at Warley. This picture appeared in Railway Modeller in an article about portable layouts.

009 Quarry Siding.

A few pictures of Quarry Siding. The top photo shows QS in it's entireaty.

The layout was built by Paul Levy and needed little in the way of modification by me.

Just as a bit of fun- who's hiding in the tunnel?

Dorset Modellers Meeting. 23rd February 2019.

The next meeting of our intrepid band , at The Pullman Coach, The Avon Causeway Hotel, Hurn, Christchurch, BH23 6AS, is this Saturday from about 1pm- there is a small charge which can be offset with purchase of chips or beverages- you don't get something for nothing these days!

Various scales will be there- I am taking Quarry Sidings to show how not a lot of room is needed for a Model Railway.

There will also be other scales and modelling!

Minitrains 009/Hoe wagon with added bulldozer.

This I found, again on the 009 Sales table .

A nice model of a bulldozer which I have given a coat of matt varnish to tone down the glossy finish.

Looks good on Quarry Siding.

Quarry Siding face shovel.

The first time i saw Quarry Siding there was a Corgi Ruston Bucyrus face shovel.
I didn't include the RB in the purchase.
However, I found this at the recent Romsey Show so this one has joined the fleet.
I do like the way the cord has been added to the operating gear making it fully poseable.

Quarry Sidings plus new Minitrains loco 009.

Sid is having a quick five minutes rest as twilight arrives.
Quarry Sidings lends itself to these kind of pictures as, being on its own turntable, posing a scene is just a matter of rotating the layout.
Below are images of the new Minitrains Contractor Locomotive- Catalogue 2001.
Similar in style to a previous Eggerbahn product, this is an all new model- you can tell because running is excellent straight from the box.
The headlight illuminates when running in a forward direction-
