0 Gauge 3 Aitch 3 plank wagon.

With the missing end fabricated, the wagon has now been painted in red primer, the chassis in black and the wagon floor natural wood.

In hindsight, a wonderful conception, the wagon should have been grey but I had the can in my hand and these things happen.

Just transfers and varnish to apply then the  couplings can be fitted.

Somewhere I have some wooden flooring so may fit that sometime.

Due to serious family illness, I have withdrawn Woody Lane from SWOONS.

3mm scale- East Boldre Station.

It seems that some time has passed since my last 3mm post.

However, the station building is just about complete apart from affixing to the platform.

The chimneys have been reworked and have had chimney pots added. These are white metal castings from the 3mm Society shop.

Fire buckets on a stand and a chocolate machine have also been added.

The vallance has been painted and, if I can find them, some awning supports will be added once painted.

So, once the next exhibition is over then work can re-commence on East Boldre itself.

I must finish some Southern coaches and a couple of locos so enough stock is available.

0 Gauge Lima coach bogies.

 The bogies arrived from Premier Components just before Christmas.

The castings are excellent and very easy to assemble. I chose parallel bearings paired with Peartree wheels.

Once made they were fitted to the coach which needed some of the original bogie pivot moulding removed.

The coach now rides at the same height as the brake coach and the Class 33.

1/87th Trams- update.

I wasn't completely happy with the running of the Barcelona tram.

This originally ran on a 4 wheel KATO motor bogie and I think, in hindsight that it was too short.

So, the hole in the baseplate was slightly enlarged and a 11-105 chassis inserted.

This makes the tram more stable and runs much smoother.

Oh- had some more track delivered but more of that in the future.

500th post- Welcome to 2020!

I really like the products of Petite Properties as you may gather. This is the first one that I built back last summer.

However, after completing the three others, I saw that the roof really let this one down.

So, using the tiles from ID stuck onto a thin card backing as a guide, I then cut the sheet into 2 tile strips and cut through the lower tile and stuck the strip on.

When complete it gives a much better finish as shown in the lower photos. In actual fact I could have gotten away without painting but the finish was well worth it. Must now wait for PP to re-stock the terracd houses as I have another project in mind. Until then....
