Although no instructions are provided assembly is straight forward , a couple of parts stumped me but I am sure it is my ignorance rather than the manufacturers fault.
I used Super Phatic glue applied with a slim paintbrush- under 1inch ( just joking!) which gave reasonable tack time and , when dry, a secure joint.

I must say that is was worth the (4 Year?) wait.
Straight from the box it ran perfectly- something I have come to expect from Leigh as he test's each one before dispatch.
The box contains instructions as to where the enclosed detailing bits actually go- a first for me.
Superbly cut, the completed wagon is designed to run on an N gauge , Farish or PECO RTR chassis.
There are two wagons on the sheet- mirror images and the first impression is WOW!
I must admit I have been pestering the maker to produce these for me for some time but, one result of lockdown has meant time has been found to produce them.
It is quite handy that the buffers are easily removed which made applying the new numbers to the bufferbeam so much easier- front and back.
Lamp irons have also been fitted to the front together with a lamp atop the smokebox and fireirons to the rear of the bunker. The crew are safely stuck to the cab floor so this one is just about complete- however, another is on its way!
So this example was found which will be converted to 3635once the replacement plates arrive.
A crew has already been fitted plus the buffer beam numbers painted over in readiness to be altered.
Real coal has been adhered to the bunker and lamp irons will be fitted once the lamps arrive- or I find the one's I already have!
D6722 is a Lima product and, after servicing, runs rather well.
OK so its out of era for St Mewan but hey it's lockdown and it's my railway etc.
Firstly the buffers had to be swapped from the oval ones fitted to some nice shiny round turned brass one's because thats what D6722 was outshopped with at the Vulcan Foundry.
Next the couplings were cut off flush to the bogie frames and some .5mm nickel silver wire was fitted into holes drilled in the loco's chassis. The buffer beam was painted black as per the prototype. Coupling height was checked with a Sprat and Winkle fitted brake van and adjusted accordingly.
A trawl through the 'net provided some headcodes appropriate to the St Austell area on clay train workings. Once these have been applied then basically that's all i'm going to do to this one.
