0 Gauge Slaters 4 wheel all 3rd GWR Coach.

The hasn't been an item of Passenger Rolling stock in my 0 Gauge roster- until now!

because of an extremely advantageous price this kit arrived in the last few days.

The contents are very good considering the kit could have been made in 1988!

The bonus is a 17- yes 17- page instruction manual. A challenge for later in the year- perhaps!

0 Gauge Cattle wagons.

A lucky purchase was a pair of Midland Railway Cattle Wagons. Both are well constructed but new wheels are needed to run on Peco bullhead track.

The smaller onewill be rebranded as Midland Railway or S&DJR whilst the large wagon will become BR.

The small wagon has been built from a 3H kit- so fairly elderly. The large version appears to be a Slaters offering.

Must see if the roofs can be removed so cattle can be added.

Salisbury Exhibition and Small England debut.

As I was the sole operator of Woody Lane I didn't get the chance to take photo's of the other layouts.

However, I did record Princess's first exhibition and she performed superbly.

I must admit I was surprised by her haulage capability which mirrored comments from other owners.

A very successful exhibition with great sandwiches and - best of all- CAKE!

Thanks SSWRS for a great weekend.

00 Gauge Oxford Diecast Riley Elf.

One of my all time favorite cars was my Riley Elf- this followed a Mark 1 Riley 1.5.

It was basically a Mini with a boot on it. Mine had twin carbs and slightly wider wheels and went like a scalded cat!

So, imagine my joy at Oxford Diecast producing a model of the Riley Elf.

Mine was Green with a cream roof- hope the produce that version also!

0 Gauge S&D van.

A recent aquisition was this elderly ex North British van.

It has a vague likeness to a S&D van so it will be branded accordingly.

Why it looks green in the pictures is a bit of a mystery but in daylight is dark grey.

Spratt & Winkle couplings have been fitted, hook on one end only, so just the need for S&DJR lettering and some numbersbefore it gets a coat of varnish and can be towed around by my blue Jinty.

PECO/KATO Small England loco for 009. Salisbury & SouthWilts RS Exhibition.

The Small England has arrived for duty on Woody Lane.

Princess was the loco that I purchased at an excellent price from Salisbury Model Centres stand at the recent Woodgreen show.

Whilst preparing Woody Lane for the Salisbury Exhibition I took the opportunity to run the loco in for 30 minutes in either direction.

She ran perfectly from out of the box with a decent pulling power despite her diminutive size.

She will be performing this coming weekend , 21st/22nd May 2022,at the Salisbury and South Wilts RS, Michael Herbert Hall, South Street, Wilton, SP2 0JS.

Opening times-10.30 - 16.30 both days.

If you attend do come and say hello.

Reply to comment from johnsaintjim.

To Johnsaintjim- I am sorry but the reply button refuses to work! The book An Illustrated History of Southern Wagons-Vol 1 gives details of early S&DJR rolling stock or maybe I could suggest contacting the S&D Trust who have a large archive. I hope this helps.

Lappa Valley April 2022.

On a glorious day in late April 2022 we visited the Lappa Valley Railway near Newquay in Cornwall.

There are three narrow gauge railways- one steam and the other two internal combustion powered.

The first train takes you to the main area which is a family park. Added to this are a well preserved Cornish Pump house building and chimney. There is a dedication plaque dedicated to 39 miners who perished there during a flood.
