This wagon is a recent release and currently available from stock.

More info can be found at-http://www.wessexwagons.co.uk/

The lower example is Wessex Wagons number 134 produced in January 2010. 160 were produced.

Petite Properties 1/76th Low Relief Terraced Houses.

I have two of these which have been butted together to form a six house terrace.

These will form part of the housing on the Tram layout.

This terrace have been faced with original Builder Plus 00 gauge brick paper. This product is excellent but now getting hard to find as production ended over thirty years ago.

The lower stonework is Metcalf  'N' gauge random stone card which makes a bit of a contrast.
The windows and doors have been opened up and wrapped into the aperture before being glued in place.once I havemade all the entrance porches then it will be time to paint all relevant parts and secure in place before the backs and roofs are fitted.

00 Gauge Heljan 1366 0-6-0 Pannier Tank.

It seemed churlish to ignore Rails offer of the Heljan 1366 Pannier Tank.

What a lovely model for the price. It will be a companion to the DJ- Kernow 1361 Saddle tank on the new 00 gauge layout.

So far 1366 has had early BR insignia applied and the numbers erased from the buffer beam- I have ordered smokebox plates from Narrow Planet including shed code. Also crew members have been added to the cab.

There is a difference in running between the two, the Heljan offering being smoother and quieter than the DJ model. I do wish that the lamps supplied with the DJ saddle tank were available to fit to other western engines.

009 Coupling hooks.

Recently received from woodworm2014 on e-bay are these plastic hook couplings.

I have found that spare metal loops fit perfectly.

Recommended!

Tram Progress.

Recently I was given a pack of foam board which is being used as the base for the tram layout.

The track will rest between the foamboard and a card topping to represent the pavement.

Separately some new Petite properties buildings have been started. These are all low relief and will form the backdrop for what is a very small layout.

Really must choose a name for the layout soon!

Atlas Motrice Tram Ho scale.

The tram has now been reduced to component parts and the wheel sets discarded.

Although this tram was standard gauge, it will run on a 9mm gauge power bogie.

I haven't yet decided whether to use a 4 wheel or bogie KATO unit.

The KATO 11-109, the 103 replacement is on order so that when it arrives I may take the opportunity to test it in this tram.

0 Gauge Slater's Palvan kit.

Latest 0 Gauge kit on the bench is this Slater's Palvan.

Comes complete with wheels so just needs MEK, paint , transfers and couplings to complete.

Below is how far I have progressed.

The brake gear is a brass etch so much fun as the Southern PMV was to put together.

Will post more as I find time.

Atlas Editions Ho Motrice Tram.

After looking at several sites with various trams on offer I decided that only short wheelbase vehicles will be suitable for the space available for the embrionic Tram layout.

This one has just arrived and will receive its motor bogie shortly.

To update the tram layout, I have been given some foam board which will be perfect for surrounding the track.

However, I still haven't decided on a name yet- two now to name!

3mm Hennock confirmed for Portsmouth

Picture
After a while, Hennock is on the road again- this time to the Portsmouth Railex- see above.

New 00 Gauge layout-not yet named.

 I have had a pair of baseboards 3ft 6inches x 8inches for some while.

I also had some finescale PECO trackwork which had lain unused for a while since being rescued from an aborted layout.

A pair of hinges were fitted making a 7ft x 8inch baseboard which folded in half- ideal for storage and transportation.

The photos show the progress so far and at present is having the wiring completed.

Corgi 00 Overhead wire wagon.

Whilst looking through e-bay recently, I found this, an AEC overhead wire wagon.

This will be ideal to use on the tram layout as it matches the overhead wire posts.

Just need to remove the current fleet branding and apply new- oncea name has been decided on.

Hornby 00 Shunters Truck.

When I bought the 1361 Saddle Tank, I also found this Hornby Shunters Truck which will be used on the latest 00 layout- more of which anon.

Looking through the people box I found a suitable shunter figure, although his pole is missing- just a careless shunter!

Used around goods yards to couple/ uncouple wagons- not to be confused with a conflat which was used to aid track circuits when a 03/4 shunter was being used.

Parkside 0 Gauge Conflat Aand Container.

This has been a prolonged build. As earlier, this wagon came to me part built but substantially complete.

The chassis had to be finished- sourced from parts in bit's box. Transfers for the container had to be obtained from PECO and finally finished off with a coat of matt varnish.

Sprat and Winkle couplings have been fitted and just need blackening and it's all done.

Very satisfying!

009 3D printed wagons.

I have no idea who has made these four wagons.

They have been 3D printed and the finish is excellent. There are a few places where a bit of cleaning up will be needed.

Three opens and an open sider will make an excellent rake for any of my 009 layouts.

Dapol 0 Gauge Isle of Wight Terrier.

Couldn't resist this one! Vastly out of area it will be pulling some Portland Cement wagons when I build them! Till then it will have to sit in it's show case with occasional outings on Cringle Street for now.

009 Wagons.

The first 009 Society Cattle Wagon
has been completed and just needs the wheels re-fitting and couplings fitted. The second one may be roofless and with added cattle but we will see.

The Dundas Glyn Valley Van has been numbered and a coat of varnish applied to seal the numbers.

With the GVT Locos it will be possible to operate Hillbrow as pure GVT!

0 Gauge Container and Conflat.

The point has been reached for the transfers to be applied after receiving the Container Transfers from PECO.

Planking has been finished in natural wood acrylic paint from Humbrol.

The container has been sprayed in Precision Paints BR Crimson and just needs the roof  painted grey.

DJ Models/Kernow 00 1361 Saddle Tank.

At the Alton Show Kernow Model Centre had this lovely model on sale for a very reasonable sum so as it is late emblem one followed me home!

Coincidentally I found a BR Shunters Truck from another trader which will perfectly pair up with the loco.

The accessory packet contained relevant hoses and lamps which have been fitted together with a suitable crew.

The Shunters Truck has had the shed name removed and will have a replacement fitted once I work out the layout name!

3mm Teignford at Alton Model Railway Exhibition.

Teignford was shown at the recent Alton Model Railway Exhibition.

For a layout nearly eleven years old it performed very well with many positive comments.

During lunchtime the sun shone so the opportunity was taken to photograph the layout .

The effect is of a winters day sunshine and I think is very effective.
