It's a Thumper in 3mm.

I aquired this semi completed kit of a 2H from Nigel.

He had painted it blue soto keep within my timescale it has had a coat of Southern BR green.

Both roofs fit so they need to be detailed.

Painting the underframe will advance the look together with fitting the bogie sideframes and undergubbins!

Luckily I have the Bachmann 4mm version to copy from.

3mm Scale Adam's Radial.

The Radial has been finished except for couplings.

Colin made a superb job of completing what I had started and all that was left was to apply transfers and numbers.

How I wish I had the steady hand of twenty years ago as I am not completely happy with the result- I have done better.

Anyway it is completed and will have couplings added soon.

Cringle Street Goods.

Cringle St. now has a loading gauge- a PECO one (in packets of two) as this comes complete with post .

Supplied as a kit of four pieces it is a quick and accurately moulded item to assemble.

There is a base supplied but a quick turn of a drill bit in a pin vice sorted the mounting hole and the loading gauge glued in place.

The awning has been painted cream and the whole low relief building has been secured with a screw through the backscene so it can easily be removed.

A blank platform awaits detailing with aforementioned trollys and sack trucks and loads of various kinds.

There is also a mounting for fire buckets to be painted and installed.
This shows the whole of the layout with pelmet attached. There is a row of LED's which provide the lighting.  I have asked Jurassic to make the sign for me so apart from detailing the main work is done.

Skytrex 0 Gauge accessories.

I already have several of the Skytrex resin cast loads. These were new to me however.

A couple of trollys in one pack and four sack trucks in another.

Good clean castings with minimal clean up required, after assembly, with superglue, a quick waft of undercoat and final colour applied.

Unfortunately I dont have colour photos of the originals so they are as they are seen here- loaded with Skytrex milk churns and a wooden box aquired from somewhere or other.

Cringle Street Goods- O Gauge.

Only a few words today- thank god I hear you say!

Cringle Street Goods has been under construction for some time and is now fully operational.

So, the scenery had to be constructed. I must say that the warehouse is the largest building I have ever made scaling out at approximately 2ft in length.

Covered with Howard Scenics brick paper and doors and windows by LCUT. More soon.

O Gauge wagon loads.

I intend to be able to unload the open wagons on Cringle Street Goods.

To this end I have produced coal loads which can be removed from the wagon inside the factory shed.

Simply put, it is a block of expanded polystyrene suitably shaped. This then has a row of 4 or 5 staples inserted into slots in the top and then liberally coated with Gorilla Glue and dunked into suitably crushed coal, left to dry and then its ready for use. Simples.

Cringle Street Goods.

The first picture of the complete layout- all 5ft of it, I wasn't sure if it could be done in O Gauge but here it is. Cringle is designed to be used by Terriers but a Peckett and a Pannier tank also regularly appear. I must create a write up as I have discovered that GW locos regularly visited LB&SCR goods yards south of the Thames.
Cringle Street does actually exist- see London A-Z!

In this hobby you need a good Cornish Pasty!-FACT!

I have some extremely loving children.

Without begg  asking, Their recent trip to the promised land -Cornwall- resulted in the delivery of what should be the staple diet , and clotted cream, and Cider, the Pasty bag ,front and back , together with the contents.

Once heated, an extremely enjoyable lunch was had straight from the bag-That's the Law!

0 Gauge Austin Ruby.

More years ago than I care to remember an Austin Ruby was the family car- ours was black.

So when I saw this one, by Oxford Diecast, I just had to have one. This one comes complete with picnic basket above the rear bumper.

I remember Dad driving into a tight parking space, getting out and lifting the back end in with the back bumper- what a simple life it was then!

0 Gauge progress and at last a name!

There has been some progress on my 0 Gauge layout which occupies 5ft x 15inches plus a small fiddle yard.

To the right is the loading dock which has a base of artist mounting card and a polyboard top which has been covered with extra fine wet and dry paper to represent a tarmac surface.

The ballast around where the dock is is at present unfixed but will be soon together with several other areas where structures have been bedded in.
On the left is the bridge spanning the 3 tracks. This again has been made from artists mounting card which has been covered with Howard Scenics brick paper. The supporting girder is a plastic H section with some of the reverse side removed.

The warehouse below has the same base material and brick paper but has Avalon 3D printed windows. This building will be a very snug  fit!

Finally- a name!

A van on a bridge!

First vehicle for the 0 Gauge layout is on the first structure, the bridge across the layout.

Not quite completed yet, some painting and paving to add .

The Corgi model has been dismantled and repainted, the cab interior is now cream and when reassembled looks totally different.

By the way a name has been decided upon and the nameplate ordered.

Woody Lanes first exhibition.

The day came and after setting up a quick test that all worked.

It is much easier with the Morley Vector, it just means clipping the wires into various, marked, connectors. Plugging in the lighting transformer and all was ready.

Just one gremlin- one of the points decided to not work but a few minutes with fibreglass brush and file and all was sorted.

So just let it run with occasional stock changes!

Just seen that 10K views has been reached!

009 -The Duck and Woody Lane

Who remembers the early Plus Net ad where the guy asks who painted the dog on the hillside?

Well, I want to know where the duck in the water tank came from.

The duck, plus the attached Woody Lane makes it's debut at Compton Dundon this coming Saturday, 2nd March.

Hope to see some of you there.
