Hawkchurch.Peckett in 4mm.

I was fortunate enough to obtain one of the Hornby 0-4-0 Peckett tanks.
Named Dodo, the loco cried out to be personalised. As the 009 locos have all been named after family members- what to call this one?
A recent holiday deserved remembering so Hawkchurch was chosen.
Perfectly etched and coloured by Narrow Planet, these were part of an order received including running in plates for Woody Lane- my next 009 layout plus nameplates for the signal box.

Hillbrow-finishing touch. 009 Narrow Gauge.

Every so often you find something that is just what you want. So it was at Narrow Gauge South West at Shepton Mallet.
A new name to me- Jurassic Models. They make laser cut wooden rolling stock and bespoke signs.
I ordered the sign for Hillbrow, was sent a proof and then a well cut ,self assembly ,two piece kit to make the sign.
Spraying the letters white and the back a matt black, I am well pleased with the result and would recommend Jurassic Models as a satisfied customer.

Clyre Valley 009.

At Wimbrorne exhibition was the Clyne Valley Railway- Cornish narrow gauge.
As shown in these few photos it is a lovely layout and full of inspiration.

Replica Railways 62ft Mk 1 suburban 00 Gauge.

When we were at Romsey MRE, Replica Railways had a set of parts to make a 62ft Suburban coach both brake and 2nd.
Both have been made and await suitable numbering.
Another pair of coaches suitable for Woodlands.

Down on Woodentop Farm. 009 Narrow Gauge.

Well-many will be mystified by this title.
Back in the days when I was a lad there was a programme in the BBC series 'Watch with Mother' called 'The Woodentops'.
One of the puppet cast was 'Spotty Dog', a dalmation. So Woodentops Farm it has to be.
Meanwhile, below,  a suitably suited farmer is checking on his beehives.
The figure is from Penduke Models who attended the recent Wimborne Model Railway Exhibition

Having a chat. 009 Narrow Gauge.

During a lull in proceedings the staff and locals have time for a chat.
The porter must have tired arms.

Gaugemaster Walkabout Controller.

This is the original type of Gaugemaster Walkabout controller. The case is longer than the present offering- indeed the present type has the same case as the Combi , HH and Walkabout.
Having the previous type of HH as well, it appears that the original type is more robust and slightly better operationally.
I would be interested to hear of others opinions and experiences.

New water Tower for Hillbrow. 009 Narrow Gauge.

The only thing lacking in facilities at Hillbrow was a lack of a water tower.
This has now been rectified with a stone based ediface. Can you guess the origin of the tank?
I will put you out of your misery and tell you that it was once an 'N' gauge closed van. All of the detail was removed and strapping applied in the form of plastic microstrip.
There is a water bag on the other side which is nigh on impossible  to photograph.

Hennock at Romsey MRE March 2017. 3MM Scale.

A few images of my 3mm layout, Hennock, at the recent Romsey Model Railway Exhibition.
The signal box with the signalman's dog waiting patiently for his master.
Prairie tank arrives with  the local 'B' Set.
The local bus is ahead of schedule so the driver has a quick breather and a chat with his passenger.
 Lane rage!
It seems the tractor driver is not for turning- must be a conservative?
A steamroller arrives on a Lowmac-
